This is the the perfect place for an afternoon tea in the English tradition.
The location is magnificent, and you can sit by the windows for a beautiful view of the gardens.

Afternoon tea is complete and copious (including traditional scones, sandwiches, cakes, cold cuts and cheeses! (£60 per person)

You're served very well, with class.

The Göring tearoom in London

Near Buckingham Palace, the Göring tea is served in its own bespoke canary-yellow china in the blood-red living room, spacious veranda or garden porch.

Reservations must be made at least three months in advance, but it is possible to stay longer. for as long as you like.

The Göring is no ordinary hotel: opened in 1910, it is the only hotel to bear Queen Elizabeth's seal of approval (and it was here that Princess Kate donned her wedding dress for her wedding to Prince William.

The Great Court restaurant at the British Museum

You'll certainly want to visit the British Museumso don't forget to take your tea with you.

Enjoy reasonably priced scones [under £20] under the undulating glass roof of the courtyard, added to the 18th-century building in 2000.

The level containing the café, nestled behind the famous reading room, is floating. in what was once the outer courtyard.

Exit through the restaurant's back door and you'll come face to face with the museum's legendary collection of Egyptian mummies.

The Ritz tearoom in London

The only way for most of us to indulge in the gilding, mirrors and noisy floral arrangements of the Ritz, on Piccadillyis to have tea.

There, we submit to the formal attentions of the obsequious waiters at his Palm Court, which welcome 400 people every day.

It's a tea room, no doubt, but it's still the Ritz. To enter, you must be properly attired. For example, it's forbidden to wear jeans and sneakers. A jacket and tie are mandatory for men.

To gain access to this venue, I advise you to book 6 to 8 weeks in advance.

The Fan Museum

The charming little Fan Museum, a block from Greenwich's rich heritage sites, might be visited more for its sweet afternoon tea than for its display of portable fans.

In fact, the best tea is to be found here, so it's wise to make a reservation. The tea in its beautiful Orangerie is authentic.

Next door, you can enjoy snacks such as :

Blackcurrant jam

In total, you'll have to pay a quarter of what many other places charge. An economical solution if you want to spend a relaxing afternoon in London, in front of a nice cup of tea.
