More than an exhibition space, Frameless is a place of creativity that continues to attract visitors from all over the world.
To find out more about this place, I've devoted a full article to the establishment.
Frameless London: article summary
Frameless London: at a glance
One immediately obvious aspect is that this is no pop-up. Frameless is a specially designed exhibition space with all the amenities you'd expect in a large museum:
- Large café with wine and plenty of seating
- Toilets
- Free checkroom
- Extensive gift store
There's even a "blank canvas" area that can be divided up for special events. where you can project your own images.
Or if you feel like spending several thousand pounds, you can hire the whole hall.
Several rooms available for artists and the public
Frameless has four rooms ranging in size from 125 to 300 square meters. State-of-the-art projection wraps images transparently around the walls, towards the ceiling and downwards onto the floor.
Some rooms feature additional effects thanks to mirrors or transparent screens.
The Color in Motion room adds a touch of reactive magic that moves the floor projections around you as you move through the space.
Works of all types and periods
The general approach is not very different from what you will have seen in other similar experiences.
All the best extracts from art history's greatest hits were extracted from the canvas and left to float freely.
Gustav Klimt, Edvard Munch, Salvador Dalí, Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Wassily Kandinsky and many others all enjoy an extended appearance, set to a soundtrack of classical and contemporary music.
Frameless London: artworks to share
The complete list of works, plus a bit of art history, is prominently displayed outside each room.
If you'd like to know more, the book accompanying the venue is a well-written introduction to all the artists and their respective movements.
There's nothing wrong with a little social networking, but on a busy day you'll find yourself surrounded by selfie poles and people posing for the perfect shot.
It's a place that mainly attracts people who are active on Instagram.
A 90-minute tour of the art world
Frameless is a place that can exceed your expectations, and you probably won't see 90 minutes go by.
The location and experience more than justify the price. However, it's not impossible that in the future the place will improve and become a must-see. You'll then be able to enjoy a complete and immersive experience. like those in London.
