The Garden at 120 is located at the top of the Fen Court building in the heart of London. You can get there by metro by stopping at Bank station.
Before arriving on site, you can pass by Sky Garden and admire its imposing building before arriving at The Garden at 120.
The whole district is absolutely breathtaking in terms of its mix of architecture, and you'll marvel at the proximity of old and new buildings and the tasteful ensemble they create.
Your arrival in the garden
Contrary to popular belief, elevators are not made up of glass doors.
You won't need to book a time slot in advance either, but even if you get in quickly, you'll probably have to queue a bit before getting to the elevators.
After a quick ride in the elevator to the 15ᵉ floor, you'll immediately be blown away by the breathtaking view!
The Garden at 120: an oasis in the heart of the city
When the sun is out, there's no better place to admire London, starting with a view of the walkie-talkie!
The Garden at 120 was designed by German landscape architects Latz + Partner and will open in 2019.
All plants and trees are very well cared for and ready for flowering.
For example, you can find :
- 85 Italian wisteria
- More than 30 fruit trees
- A 60 m long fountain
- A lounge area
For some, this place is a real paradise in the city!
A view of the city's most beautiful buildings
Spread over 15 floors, The Garden at 120 offers an exceptional 360-degree view of London. Some of the sights to see include:
- Tower Bridge
- The Shard
- The Walkie Talkie
- The Gherkin
It's also the ideal place for a romantic getaway. Personally, I recommend taking advantage of the evening hours in summer to enjoy a magnificent view of the sunset.
The Garden at 120 is considered London's largest rooftop public space. An initiative that could inspire other architects in the future.
The Garden at 120: a private company behind the maintenance of this space
The garden is maintained by award-winning company Landform, renowned for maintaining and creating high-quality landscapes throughout the UK, including Ascot Spring Garden.
You'll find yourself in a surprisingly quiet garden, allowing you to enjoy the calm of the surroundings. What's more recharge your batteries between visits.
What are the opening hours?
If you'd like to enjoy the garden, you can visit at certain times of the day during the different seasons of the year.
Summer opening hours
The garden is open from April 1ᵉʳ to September 30 :
- Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Saturday to Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Winter opening hours
In winter, the garden is open from October 1ᵉʳ to March 31 :
- Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- Saturday to Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Needless to say, the views from the Garden at 120 are absolutely spectacular. I can't recommend this place highly enough to tourists looking for a different way of discover London's skyline.
