Located in the Montmartre district of Paris, audiences arrive at the Moulin Rouge as soon as they step into the auditorium.

Then, as the curtain rises, a writer in love named Christian takes his place inside the Moulin Rouge, looking forward to the evening's events.

He is greeted by Satine, star of the show "Le diamant scintillant".

Clearly, there's something in their eyes, because they're in love with each other from the first glance.

At the Moulin Rouge, the audience also meets Harold Zidler, the entertainer, and the wealthy Duke of Monroth who tries to buy romantic passion.

But even if the course of love doesn't run smoothly, Christian and Satine do everything they can to stay together.

When did Moulin-Rouge premiere in London?

The musical Moulin Rouge premieres in London at the Piccadilly Theatre on November 12, 2021.

The world premiere of Moulin Rouge! The musical took place at Boston's Emerson Colonial Theatre.

Performances began on June 27, 2018, before an opening night on July 22, 2018. 

Who wrote this play?

The musical is written by John Logan, with music composed by a host of pop stars. Moulin Rouge is based on the 2001 musical film of the same name. written by Baz Luhrmann and Craig Pearce.
