London cabs are called Black CabThis is because they are, in most cases, black. Some sponsored vehicles come in other colors, but it's the curvaceous black car that is usually referred to when the classic London cab is mentioned.

From the seventeenth centuryThe first cabs appeared in London in the form of horse-drawn carriages. They travelled between (then) central London and the district of Westminsterstill separate.

As I said, cabs in London are particularly expensive. However, you should know that these vehicles are spacious enough to accommodate up to 5 peopleThis allows us to share the costs.

Applied rates
Fares vary according to the distance covered, the time of day you make the journey, traffic conditions and the duration of the trip. As a rough guide, you can expect to pay :
- Enter £6 – £9.40 for 1 mile (i.e. 1.6 km) during the day, Monday to Friday, with decreasing rates per additional mile
- Between £00 – £11.00 for 1 mile in the evening (8pm to 10pm), Monday to Friday, and on Saturdays and Sundays during the day
- From £8.40 – £12.00 for 1 mile at night (between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. or on public holidays)
Additional charges
Charges may be added for special periods (e.g. +£4 between December 24 and 27), or in the case of reservations. However, there is no luggage surcharge.
We also note special rates since London airports from £56.00 to £105.00 from Heathrow / between £98 - £150 from Gatwick

Beware of non-official vehicleswho may offer you their services without booking. They are illegal and you risk being ripped off!
Applications such as Uber and Bolt are also available in London, and convenient if you have an internet connection abroad.
