Se lo avessero accettato come re d'Inghilterra, avrebbe concesso alla loro citt\u00e0 alcuni diritti che l'avrebbero resa uno Stato nello Stato.<\/p>\n<p>I padri della citt\u00e0 si resero conto che resistere a un assedio normanno sarebbe stato costoso e forse inutile.<\/p>\n<p>Cos\u00ec accettarono i termini e, il giorno di Natale del 1066, Guglielmo di Normandia divenne re Guglielmo 1\u1d49\u02b3 d'Inghilterra. <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourlondres.fr\/it\/abbazia-di-westminster\/\">Abbazia di Westminster<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc147934969\"><\/a><strong>L'inizio della costruzione della torre<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Raggiunto l'obiettivo, Guglielmo si impegn\u00f2 a mettere in sicurezza il suo regno e ordin\u00f2 un programma di costruzione di castelli. Questo piano prevedeva <strong>la costruzione di nove castelli intorno a Londra.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Su un enorme tumulo ai margini orientali della citt\u00e0, ordin\u00f2 la costruzione di un'imponente fortezza in pietra che sarebbe diventata la Torre di Londra.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc147934970\"><\/a><strong>Storia della Torre di Londra: espansione nei secoli<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Nel corso dei secoli, la struttura originaria \u00e8 stata ampliata, tanto che quella che oggi chiamiamo Torre di Londra era un'antica torre. <strong>un vasto complesso di 22 torri separate.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tuttavia, le fasi di costruzione principali sono state tre. La massiccia torre al centro del complesso, sormontata da torrette grigie e da un pennone, \u00e8 la Torre Bianca.<\/p>\n<p>Questa \u00e8 la Torre costruita da Guglielmo il Conquistatore intorno al 1078 e imbiancata a <strong>conferiscono un aspetto lucido, scintillante e imponente.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Due ulteriori espansioni nel corso della storia<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Nel 1200, un altro re medievale, Enrico III, che regn\u00f2 per pi\u00f9 di 50 anni, costru\u00ec <strong>il primo grande ampliamento della torre.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>L'espansione finale avvenne intorno al 1300 sotto il comando di re Edoardo I\u02b3. L'estensione della sua espansione \u00e8 segnata dal muro esterno del complesso.<\/p>\n<p>Edoardo aggiunse anche il fossato, che venne svuotato nel 19\u1d49 secolo quando l'acqua fu <strong>\u00e8 diventato terribilmente inquinato.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Riempito d'acqua, il fossato avrebbe impedito agli aggressori di avvicinarsi. Erano anche una fonte di cibo, poich\u00e9 la gente vi pescava.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc147934971\"><\/a><strong>La Torre di Londra attraverso la storia<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>La Torre di Londra ha rappresentato molte cose nel corso della sua esistenza.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c8 sempre stato un palazzo reale. Un tempo ospitava la Zecca Reale <strong>dove venivano prodotte o coniate le monete del regno.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fino al XIX secolo, ospitava il serraglio reale nella Torre del Leone, una torre oggi scomparsa che sorgeva dove oggi si trova il negozio di souvenir della Torre.<\/p>\n<p>Ma la Torre \u00e8 conosciuta in tutto il mondo<strong> come luogo di prigionia, tortura ed esecuzione<\/strong>.
