In fact, you'll probably have paid in advance. So there are no surprises on arrival.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc148347348\"><\/a><strong>The different trains from Gatwick airport to central London<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>When deciding which train to take from Gatwick airport to London, your main consideration will be <strong>should be the place where you booked your hotel room.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you're staying in West London, you might consider taking the airport express train: the Gatwick Express, which takes just 30 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>If, instead, you've booked your hotel in the East End or around <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourlondres.fr\/en\/london-bridge\/\">London Bridge<\/a>If you're travelling to Blackfriars or King's Cross, you can opt for a slightly slower, but cheaper, train from the airport to your destination.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, the \"slow train\" takes only 32 minutes to reach its destination. <strong>to London Bridge station.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc148347349\"><\/a><strong>Find out more about the Gatwick Express<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>As mentioned above, the Gatwick Express is the fastest way to get from Gatwick to central London.<\/p>\n<p>Express trains run non-stop to London's Victoria station and <strong>there's one every 30 minutes.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Gatwick Express is fast and reliable, but if you've got 3 minutes to spare, I'd recommend taking the Southern train service running on the same route.<\/p>\n<p>It only makes two additional stops along the way and<strong> you can save up to \u00a311.70.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The price of a trip on the Gatwick Express is \u00a319.80 using the Visitor <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourlondres.fr\/en\/oyster\/\">Oyster Card<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>London Gatwick shuttle: take the Southern train<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Southern train is cheaper than the Gatwick Express, and there are only a few extra stops en route (at East Croydon and Clapham Junction), which means that <strong>the journey from Gatwick airport to Victoria station takes just 33 minutes.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The fare is \u00a38.10 (off-peak) and \u00a314.20 (peak), so it's a much cheaper alternative to the Gatwick Express.<\/p>\n<p>The route is the same and takes you from Gatwick airport to the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourlondres.fr\/en\/london-station\/\">Victoria station<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It is also possible to take the Southern service to London Bridge. However, this requires changing trains at East Croydon station.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>From Gatwick airport with National Express and EasyBus<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>National Express runs on a route that stops at Vauxhall station and heads for Victoria.<\/p>\n<p>The journey takes an average of 90 minutes. At night, and sometimes on busy days, the journey can take up to two hours. <strong>in just over an hour.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It's a good alternative to the train if you land at Gatwick at night.<\/p>\n<p>Bus tickets can be purchased for as little as \u00a35. If you buy them online in advance, but the standard price is \u00a310.<\/p>\n<p>There are numerous shuttle services between Gatwick and London. Depending on your budget and where you live, you can find the option that suits you best.
