When creating the character, <strong>the location is 100 % fictitious<\/strong> because the numbering only goes so far. And after several years of legal battles with the company that took over the number when it was finally assigned by the town hall, the museum obtained the right to use it as a <strong>official address<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>A <strong>blue plate<\/strong> affixed to the outside of the building states that this was the home of Sherlock Holmes, thus perpetuating the myth that he never actually existed!
