It was located in Deptford, London.<strong> for almost 70 years before it was demolished.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The replica was built in Appledore. Using traditional restoration methods, the replica spent most of its life on public display. The total estimated cost is around \u00a31.5 million.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the redevelopment,<strong> the team is ready to build a new reception center on the quay.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This will enable them to expand their educational activities and also create a collection of objects for display.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc158007011\"><\/a><strong>Golden Hinde: an educational building<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The challenge: to complete the redevelopment while remaining open to the public. As a totally self-financed operation, the team continues to<strong> offer educational programs open to the general public.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The vast majority of costs have been covered by operating income, and so far the deficit has been made up by other internal sources.<\/p>\n<p>Other challenges included finding qualified shipwrights willing to live and work in London and in <strong>create a fully functional wooden shipyard beneath the vessel.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Daily challenges<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Although the work took almost a year and a half to complete, the team of 7 carpenters made good progress.<\/p>\n<p>In March 2017, Toby Millinder joined the team as head carpenter and worked with this small but capable team.<\/p>\n<p>Dock water drained <strong>to give the team full access to all parts of the ship requiring their attention.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The list of jobs is long and varied, calling mainly on the skills of shipwright and rigger.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc158007012\"><\/a><strong>Golden Hinde: opening hours<\/strong><strong>?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Hinde remains open to visitors:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Every day <strong>10 a.m. to 6 p.m.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc158007013\"><\/a><strong>How much does admission cost?<\/strong><strong>?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>To visit this building, you will need :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>6\u00a0\u00a3<\/strong> for adults and children over three years of age<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Golden Hinde also offers family packages at cost <strong>18\u00a0\u00a3<\/strong> for a family of four.<\/p>\n<p>The Golden Hinde is a fully restored period building worth visiting in London.
