The nearest stations are<a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourlondres.fr\/en\/covent-garden\/\"> Covent Garden<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourlondres.fr\/en\/leicester-square\/\">Leicester Square<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc158914992\"><\/a><strong>London's oldest pub: Cittie of Yorke<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The current building is a replica built in 1920, but a pub has existed here for almost 600 years, so it's still one of London's oldest pubs.<\/p>\n<p>The Samuel Smith Brewery owns and operates this location, <strong>so you won't get as much variety here.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>That said, the lower prices make up for this, and Taddy lager will appeal to everyone.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>How to get there<\/strong><strong>?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>You can quickly reach the site from Chancery Lane station.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc158914993\"><\/a><strong>The Old Bell Tavern<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>No other pub on this list boasts such an impressive architect as The Old Bell was built by Sir Christopher Wren, who was rebuilding St Bride's Church. <strong>after the Great Fire of London.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It's not even the only pub he would have built, as nearby Ye Olde Watling, managed by the same chain, was also rebuilt by the architect.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>How to get there<\/strong><strong>?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The nearest train stations are City Thameslink and Blackfriars.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc158914994\"><\/a><strong>London's oldest pub: Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Easily winning the award for oldest pub on this list, Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese is not the place to go if you want to sit by a window and watch the world go by.<\/p>\n<p>It's more appropriate to imagine yourself as the protagonist of a Victorian crime thriller, <strong>with sawdust on the floor and wooden bays with high-backed pews.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It really does look like one of London's oldest pubs. The original pub was destroyed in the Great Fire of London, but it didn't take long for a successor to rise from the ashes.<\/p>\n<p>The pub dates from 1667, because it was rebuilt in 1667.
