You'll have just a few minutes to <strong>enjoy these magnificent gems.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc156604490\"><\/a><strong>When is the best time to visit the Crown Jewels?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>It depends on the time of year you're visiting. If you're visiting the Tower of London at Easter, summer or Christmas, I recommend arriving early, around 20 minutes before opening time.<\/p>\n<p>It's probably best to go straight to the Crown Jewels building before visiting all the other parts of the Tower of London, <strong>because the queue to get in tends to be very long after 11am.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you have the choice, I advise you to go during the week and avoid weekends if possible.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc156604491\"><\/a><strong>The Crown Jewels: a magnificent collection of 23,578 precious stones<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Crown Jewels, part of the Royal Collection, are the most powerful symbols of the British monarchy and have a profound meaning.<strong> and cultural history of our nation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The mystery and beauty of the diamonds and precious jewels in the royal insignia have always held an unprecedented attraction for visitors from all over the world.<\/p>\n<p>From February 2020, the Prince of Wales's investiture crown is on display in Jewel House for the first time. The crown, which is part of the Royal Collection, has been <strong>joins the crowns of two other Princes of Wales.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>A crown apart for the prince<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>For the investiture as Prince of Wales at Caernarfon Castle on July 1\u1d49\u02b3, 1969, Prince Charles wore the contemporary crown designed by architect and silversmith Louis Osman.<\/p>\n<p>The crown is made of gold and platinum and set with diamonds and emeralds. <strong>an estate hood in purple velvet and ermine.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Next to the crown, the scepter used for the 1969 investiture, previously made for the 1911 investiture, is also on display.<\/p>\n<p>It would be unthinkable to visit London without seeing the Crown Jewels.
