For a long time, it was used to transport goods, before becoming a transit point for many visitors each year (&gt; 50 million).<\/p>\n<p>Its main routes are to the west and south-west of the country, with cities such as Bristol, Gloucester, Taunton and Exeter; <strong>WALES<\/strong> with trains to Swansea, Cardiff and Newport. It's a modern station, and still the 4th busiest in the world.<sup>e<\/sup> in the city.<\/p>\n<p>From London Bridge Station, you can reach Kent, Sussex and the south of the city. There's also a connection to another major London station:  Charing Cross.<\/p>\n<p>For lovers of anecdotes, the poet John Davidson dedicated a poem to the station, in his collection <em>Fleet Street and Other Poems<\/em>under the ambiguous title of <strong><em>London Bridge<\/em><\/strong>. It opened in 1874, and has always been of some importance to <em>the city<\/em>located in the heart of the Finance district.<\/p>\n<p>It serves the north-east of the capital, with trains to Cambridge and Norwich.
