Wimbledon tournament: prices, schedule and practical information
Rates
- Adult ticket : from 30 euros to 300 eurosdepending on the court and match
- Children aged 5 and over must have a ticket, just like adults.
- Children under 5 do not pay; however, they are not allowed on certain courts.
Opening hours
Matches often start at midday or early afternoon. Duration varies, with an average of 90 minutes per match.
Although a tie-break for the final set is now the quickest way to separate two athletes, the Wimbledon tournament has seen some...long-lasting matches! I'm thinking of the clash between American John Isner and Frenchman Nicolas Mahut in 2010, which lasted 11 hours and 5 minutes over 3 days!
Practical information
Please note that luggage is limited to one per person (maximum dimensions 40cm x 30cm x 30cm).
I advise you to use a an umbrella and/or k-way as the risk of rain is high. And don't forget to pack a snack in aluminum foil or plastic film, as food is very expensive indoors and tupperware is forbidden.
Last but not least tourist is not tolerated, so make sure you're dressed to the nines when attending a tennis match at Wimbledon.
