Warwick Castle: a show-stopping venue
Apart from its historical importance, visitors to Warwick Castle come mainly to enjoy the various shows that are put on throughout the day. Here, you can enjoy a varied program.
The Haunted Hollows
The first show of the day is Haunted Hollows.
The spooky trail is full of cobwebs, skeletons and characters, including a pumpkin and a swamp monster.
The tour lasts about 10 minutes and is entirely suitable for strollers and all ages.
Warwick Castle: The Mighty Trebuchet
After your stroll through the forest, you can head off to the first attraction, featuring a real catapult.
The giant catapult is quite an impressive beast in the eyes of all. is the largest of its kind in the world!
From the opposite bank, the actors demonstrate how it works as you watch each step. And finally, with a great countdown, you see him launch a huge boulder several meters above the ground.
Flight of the eagles
In another part of the estate, you can enjoy an incredible experience and witness a veritable ballet of birds of all kinds.
Here you can see birds of prey in their mighty element, melting and hovering over the castle.
It was fascinating to hear about each bird, its personality and interesting facts about its particular breed. Definitely not to be missed!
Warwick Castle: Fortress of the Conquerors
Originally, this outdoor path climbs the oldest part of Warwick Castle.
There are plenty of information panels to read along the way, with interactive sections for children.
Part of the trail is a gentle uphill path, but there are a few steps, so it may be easier to leave strollers at the bottom.
Visit the witches' tower
Known as the "Princess Tower", if you're visit Warwick Castle on Halloweenthe scary witches will invade.
You'll need to pick up your free tickets for a slot next to the Great Hall entrance. This is a children's show requiring audience participation.
Please note that there are narrow stairs to climb. Not suitable for people with reduced mobility. The tour takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
Warwick Castle: The Tower of Time
Here, you'll travel back in time as you learn about the history of Warwick Castle and its owners through interactive videos.
This is a really interesting attraction. You wait for the front door to open and then enter the first room. All rooms have timed doors that allow you to move on to the next room at the right time.
Take a full tour of the castle
This is one of the free historical tours you can take throughout the day. It takes the form of a lecture on the entire history of Warwick Castle, and lasts approximately half an hour.
Not particularly fun or engaging for kids, it's still very interesting. Some tours are more interactive for children, so be sure to ask before making your plans if you're with the family.
Warwick Castle: visit the grounds
On site, you'll be given a time passport to stamp. You can then be sure of visiting every era the park has to offer.
The idea is for you to work your way through each zone of the maze. which represents a different historical period.
Once you've found each zone, you can stamp your time passport, and there are plenty of interactive stations and information panels.
Discover evening entertainment
During the Haunted Castle Halloween event, Warwick Castle remains open until 10 p.m. (it normally closes at 6 p.m.).
During this extended opening, fire shows and fire jousts take place. To make the most of the entertainment, you might consider spending the night at Knights Village.
