Radio Rooftop is Covent Garden's rooftop cocktail bar.
In recent years, it has become very popular.
Today, I present it to you in detail.
Radio Rooftop: article summary
Where is Radio Rooftop in London?
Perched atop the ME Hotel in Aldwych, Radio Rooftop London is the subject of much media hype.
The bar's ideal Covent Garden location makes it a great place to enjoy a drink. after a day's shopping or exploring central London.
In fact, the bar is just a stone's throw from Somerset House and some of the capital's most iconic theaters.
What can we expect?
It's not all bad; in fact, it's not bad at all. The cocktails are well prepared, even if they are a little expensive. In fact, you should expect to pay around £16 each.
If you can ignore the price tag, which is almost double that of some London cocktails, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
The offer includes a range of cold drinks such as the signature Negroni. Whichever drink you choose, you won't go wrong.
Radio Rooftop: bartenders at work
Watch the bartenders at work as they prepare drink after drink throughout the evening. You'll see right away that they've got serious skills.
Each drink is perfectly prepared, with no gimmicks. Here you have a team of incredibly talented mixologists.
The rest of the bar menu is nicely eclectic, with something for every craving. A favorite is the Radio Garden, a lovely blend of Hendrick's, cucumber, basil and elderflower. A drink perfect for aperitifs during the summer months.
What about the atmosphere?
It takes special skills to bring a hotel bar to life. While the drinks are exceptional, the ambience leaves a little to be desired.
Let's be honest, it's a beautiful place. Inside, the bar is an art deco vision lit by warm lighting, and outside, on the terrace, the view of the capital is unprecedented.
Despite all the expensive drinks and lavish decor, the bar exudes the atmosphere of a shopping mall before opening.
The music is loud enough, people talk, but it lacks any real feeling. If it's an atmosphere you're after, you'd be better off going to one of London's other bars.
Radio Rooftop: enjoy the terrace
Overall, the service is pleasant. However, given the popularity of the place, there's a risk that you'll be queuing for hours. I therefore recommend to arrive early enough to gain entry.
At the bar, where the mixologists are unfailingly courteous throughout the evening. You can then enjoy the outdoor terrace and the incredible view over London.
