The London stadium, formerly known as the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Stadiumis a multi-purpose stadium in London.
It was originally built for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Summer Games.

London Olympic Stadium: at a glance
Visit London Stadium has been converted into the home of West Ham United soccer club, although it still serves as a multi-purpose venue.
In addition to soccer matches, the stadium hosts :
- Concerts
- Baseball games
- Rugby
- Cricket
- Athletics
As far as soccer is concerned, the London Stadium is the fourth largest stadium in London, after WembleyTwickenham and Tottenham Hotspur.
When hosting such events, the stadium has a capacity of around 60,000 seatsWhen in concert mode, capacity is increased by up to 80,000 additional seats.
Visit the London Stadium
Today, you can visit the London stadium on a guided or self-guided tour, or buy a ticket for one of the regularly scheduled sporting or non-sporting events.
Visitors are free to spend as much time as they like inside the stadium during a tour, but I recommend that you allow at least At least 1 hour and 30 minutes for a complete visit.
London Olympic Stadium: where is it?
The London Stadium is located in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, in the Stratford district of London, just northeast of the center.
You won't find any famous sites within walking distance outside of the ArcelorMittal Orbitwhich is located in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park itself, just south of the stadium.
However, if you take the tube or bus, you can easily reach the city center. The nearest tourist areas are Whitechapel and The City in London.
How do admission tickets work?
Tickets for the London Stadium tour can be purchased directly at the stadium on the day of your visit.
There are several types of tours available at the London stadium, the most popular and the most frequent being a guided tour of the London stadium.
The cost of an adult ticket for a visit to the London Stadium is £20.00, with a reduced price of £17.00 available for students and disabled visitors.
Children under 5 and accompanying adults can take part in the tour free of charge.
London Olympic Stadium: what are the opening hours?
London stadium opens to visitors:
- Monday to Sunday between 10 p.m. and 3 p.m.
On Saturdays, the closing time is postponed by half an hour. Bear in mind, however, that opening times may vary throughout the year.
On busy days and at peak times, up to two visits per hour.
Outside visiting hours, the stadium of London remains open for matchesand community events, which normally take place throughout the afternoon and evening.
How do I get there?
If you want to take the subway, the nearest and best-served station is Stratford. You can get there on the :
- Central
- Jubilee
- Elizabeth.
If you prefer to take the bus, you have several options. Bus routes 108, 308, 339, 388 and D8 drop you off as close to the stadium as possible.
