London has no shortage of Jamaican restaurants quality.
You won't be surprised to learn that most of them are pretty laid-back places where the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly.
Let's discover the best restaurants in town.
Jamaican restaurant in London: article summary
Jamaican restaurant in London: Jamaica Patty Co.
Run by Jamaican-born Thérésa Roberts and Caribbean chef Collin Brown, this Covent Garden specializes in Jamaican takeaway cuisine.
Imagine a British pastry, but with a firmer dough, often tinted golden yellow with egg yolk or turmeric, then spicier fillings like jerk chicken or curried goat's cheese.
Although the patties are available to take away, Jamaica Patty Co offers plenty of tables, which is ideal if you want to enjoy your galette with a cup of the famous Jamican Blue Mountain coffee.

- Monday to Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Sunday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Rum Kitchens
There are two Rum Kitchens in London, but I prefer the one at SohoThe atmosphere in the heart of this district is perfectly suited to that of Jamaica.
The cocktail menu is designed to spread the love of rum, and its inclusion of an impressive variety of rare rums is most welcome.
Then, in terms of food, there's everything from buns to barbecues, through to bread rolls.
My advice is to start with the fish fritters before enjoying the jerk pork belly with rice and peas.
You can visit us on site:
- Monday to Thursday from 12 p.m. to midnight
- Friday to Saturday 12 p.m. to 0.30 a.m.
- Sunday from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Jamaican restaurant in London: Négril
Arguably the best place in South London, Negril is as authentic as it gets. Named after the part of Jamaica famous for its long beaches and undeniable beauty.
For more than 10 years, Negril has been serving its healthy menu to the residents of Brixton and beyond, with starters like ackee and salted fish served with plantain.
Weather permitting, try to find a seat outside on Negril's charming little patio. You'll still be a long way from the Caribbean Sea, but it's the best outdoor Jamaican dinner London has to offer.
The venue opens :
- Wednesday to Friday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- Weekend 12 pm to 10 pm
Fish, Wing and Tings
Another in Brixton, Fish, Wings and Tings, serves up tasty dishes based on local, seasonal produce. So it's as much a celebration of London as it is of Jamaica.
In Fish, Wings and Tings' own words, the menu embraces dishes from the Caribbean region, taking regional and street food and transforming them into a trendy and delicious selection of new Caribbean dishes.
My favorite is the coconut curry shrimp dish served with rice and peas, pineapple, mango chutney and coleslaw.
It's something you don't find in too many other Jamaican restaurants in London, and a dish that allows Fish, Wings and Tings to retain loyal customers.
You can get there :
- Sunday 12 pm to 10 pm
- Tuesday to Thursday from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Jamaican restaurant in London: Dutchie
The original Dutchie is in Croydon, but this one in Camberwell is easier to get to and serves Jamaican dishes that will make your mouth water.
The menu includes whole jerk chicken, lobster jerk and the famous Dutchied fried chicken served with Jamaican coleslaw, homemade sauce and sweet potato fries.
Some of the cocktails here are as colorful and curious as the Caribbean itself.
You can get there :
- Monday to Thursday from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.
- Friday to Saturday 12 p.m. to 1 a.m.
- Sunday from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Tracks & Records by Usain Bolt
The original Tracks & Records by Usain Bolt is located in Kingston. It's a Jamaican bar, restaurant and lounge offering a dynamic gourmet menu and a host of cocktails featuring various real Jamaican Appleton rums.
Start your meal with plantain nachos drizzled with scotch oil, then enjoy okra, peppers, carrots, water crackers and bammy, a traditional Jamaican cassava flatbread.
Tracks & Records is one of London's coolest Jamaican restaurants, because it feels like a little hideaway, adorned with the face of the fastest man on the planet.
Opening hours are :
- Monday to Wednesday from 12 p.m. to midnight
- Thursday to Saturday 12 p.m. to 1 a.m.
- Sunday from 12 am to 9 pm
