One of the city's most emblematic skating rinks, Somerset House is a must-see.
This year, their spectacular courtyard is transformed into a magnificent festive destination with a typically Swiss winter ambience, thanks to none other than Switzerland Tourism.
Their popular evening sessions with specially selected music playlists return in 2023.
Nearby, you'll find Shelter Boutique, an ephemeral store offering a hand-picked selection of vintage clothing and gifts.
The nearest train station is Temple.

Alexandra Palace skating rink
While it's a permanent fixture, whatever the season, on London's rink scene, there are plenty of reasons to choose the Ally Pally rink as your skating venue.
You'll see the rink transformed into a festive paradise between December 14, 2023 and January 3, 2024. During this period, you'll find :
- Mulled wine
- Baileys hot chocolate
- Tartlets
The venue also transforms into a disco dance floor on certain dates. What's more taking the party to another level.

Ice rinks in London: Battersea
2021 unfortunately marked the last winter in which the Museum of Natural History's ice rink has been installed.
Fortunately, last year the same team offered a brand new one in London's latest attraction: the Battersea.
From November 10, Glide offers:
- A 9-metre Christmas tree
- Vintage fairground rides
- Twinkling lights
- Street food galore
- Photomatons
Here, you can also enjoy panoramic views of the historic building and the a plethora of dining and shopping destinations.
Adult tickets cost 12,50 £.
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland
Proving once and for all that Winter Wonderland does nothing by halves, Hyde Park installed for another year the UK's largest outdoor ice rink.
Skate around the Victorian bandstand under a canopy of twinkling lights and you can even enjoy a serenade.
The rest of Winter Wonderland is just as magical, offering :
- A Christmas market
- Breathtaking rides (including an 85-metre-high falling tower)
- An Oktoberfest-style room
- Karaoke booths
The venue opens :
- November 17, 2023 to January 1ᵉʳ, 2024
Adult tickets cost 15 for the ice rink.
Ice rink in London: Canary Wharf
Back in 2023, it's perhaps the oldest ice rink on this list. On site, you can enjoy this attraction for four months!
You'll find it in Canada Square Park, and you'll be blown away by their spectacular roof, equipped with over 1,000 lights to provide a suitably festive atmosphere.
They also offer curling, musical events and much more.
The site is open from October 21, 2023 to February 24, 2024.
Adult tickets start at from £20.95.
Skate West End
London's newest skating rink, Skate West End, will open in Hanover Square at Mayfair next November and is being brought to the capital by none other than Underbelly, in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital.
A few steps fromOxford Street and Regent Street, this brand-new ice rink will be the ideal place to have fun after a day of sightseeing.
But that's not all: Hanover Square itself will be transformed into a festive paradise. So you can spend the festive season skating and enjoying the wonders of the season.
The place opens from November 4, 2023 to January 1ᵉʳ, 2024.
