When is Hyde Park Winter Wonderland 2023?
Hyde Park's huge funfair and festival opens its doors for the 2023 Christmas season. You can visit from November 17, 2023 to January 1ᵉʳ, 2024.
It is open every day except Christmas Day and the opening hours are :
- 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day
In the past, it closed a little earlier on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
How to get to the Christmas market in Hyde Park
The Winter Wonderland site is located in the south-east corner of Hyde Park. Just head for the flashing lights of the funfair and the Ferris wheel to find the place.
The nearest metro stations are :
- Hyde Park Corner
- Marble Arch
- Green Park
- Knightsbridge
If you have accessibility requirements or are traveling with children, Green Park is your best choice, because it offers step-free access.
Do you have to pay a ticket to enter Hyde Park Winter Wonderland?
Once again this year, you'll need to book a ticket to get into Winter Wonderland, no matter what activities you take part in once you're inside.
If you visit the park during off-peak hours, usually weekday mornings until mid-December, admission is free, but you still need to make a reservation.
If you visit at normal times, usually weekend mornings, weekday afternoons, admission costs £5 per person.
Finally, at peak times, weekend afternoons/evenings and weeknights, in the run-up to Christmas, is £7.50 per person.
Is the Hyde Park Christmas market child-friendly?
There's plenty for kids to do at Winter Wonderland, including :
- Minimanèges
- A skating rink
- Santaland, where you can meet Santa Claus for free
The lights and bright colors, the Christmas decorations and the myriad of candy stalls make it a children's paradise.
What's happening at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland 2023?
The huge festival site includes :

- Rides
- Bars
- Food and drink stalls
- A circus
- A skating rink
Christmas market in Hyde Park: the ice rink at Winter Wonderland
Apparently the largest outdoor skating rink in the UK, Winter Wonderland's skating area is quite picturesque, centered around the park's bandstand, and often with live acoustic music to accompany your sports night.
I advise you to make a reservation, especially if you're visiting at peak times.
Christmas market in Hyde Park
There's a little change in the Christmas Market this year, as Underbelly is organizing it, the company behind Christmas in Leicester Square and Christmas in Trafalgar Square.
German-style chalets are replaced by a brand new Scandinavian-themed marketplace with colorful Danish-style chalets.
Christmas market in Hyde Park: the kingdom of ice
If walking through a winter wonderland isn't festive enough for you, how about walking through a kingdom of ice?
This year, the magical ice kingdom is transformed into a Viking ice village, with visitors invited to stroll through the nine realms of Norse mythology, through sculptures of various gods and goddesses.
Dress warmly: the sculptures are kept at a cool -10°C.
Christmas market in Hyde Park: Winter Wonderland funfair
If you've never been to Winter Wonderland, you've probably seen its roller coaster rise into the London skyline.
There are dozens of rides and games to choose from on the Hyde Park website, ranging from from a traditional funfair for children and adults to a roller coaster.
The observation wheel is 70 m high and offers truly impressive views of the entertainment below and the horizon.
The Christmas Market in Hyde Park is an interesting place to visit in London at the end of the year. It's a great place to discover new things and have a wonderful time with your family.
