As past and present merge in a disturbing way, father and son learn an uncomfortable truth.
Harry Potter show in London: do you need to have seen the films?
You can enjoy Harry Potter and the Cursed Child even if you've never watched the films.
However, I recommend that you watch the Harry Potter films or read the original novels before you go.
The play is a continuation of the novels, taking place 19 years after the end of the final book.
When was the premiere?
The world premiere of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child took place in London. It was at the Palace Theatre, with previews from June 7, 2016.
The opening night took place on the eve of Harry Potter's birthday, July 31.
Who wrote Harry Potter and the Cursed Child?
Jack Thorne is behind the writing of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. However, the story is based on original ideas by Thorne, John Tiffany and Harry Potter novelist JK Rowling.
Jack Thorne is an English playwright whose works include the now annual stage adaptation of A Christmas Carol at the Old Vic.
He also adapted Woyzeck and wrote the TV adaptation of His Dark Materials.
Which London theater is playing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child?
Harry Potter and L'Enfant Maudit can be found at the Palace Theatre, where the world premiere took place.

In total, the two parts of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child last 5 hours and 15 minutes.
The first part lasts 2 hours 40 minutes and the second part 2 hours 35 minutes.
Both parts have a 20-minute intermission.
