Legendary for both the quality of its pasta and the length of its queues, the original Borough Market site has won over legions of fans.
If you're on a budget, opt for tagliarini with dried chilli, garlic and pangrattato. This dish costs just £8.50.

Phat Phuc
You may be surprised to learn that one of London's best budget restaurants is based in Chelsea.
As well as having a rather brilliant name, Phat Phuc translates as "Happy Buddha" in Vietnamese, the restaurant offers cuisine at fairly reasonable prices.
In an authentic courtyard setting just off King's Road, they prepare everything from spicy coconut laksas to steaming bowls of pho. A place not to be missed under any circumstances.

Another Islington establishment, Xi'an Impression is a cozy little place serving up some of the best Chinese dishes from all over London.
They serve everything here, from hand-pulled noodles to wonton chicken soup and melting ravioli.
Almost all dishes cost less than £10, so if you're looking for real value for money, then you've really come to the right place here.
Fat Hippo
Rounding out this list of London's best cheap restaurants is Fat Hippo, an independent burger chain that has opened its first London restaurant in the heart of Shoreditch.
On the spot, I recommend the Stinky Pete, a delicious burger including:

- Onion jam
- Jalapeños
