Cardiff: take the Taff Trail
The Taff Trail, between Cardiff and the town of Brecon, is part of the national cycling network.
It's on this road that you'll find Castell Coch, a neo-Gothic castle that looks as if it's been built in the 19th century. straight out of a fairy tale.
You can go as far as you like along the cycle path. So don't hesitate to spend a morning strolling along this route to discover the beautiful villages around Cardiff.
Discover the city's music scene
Cardiff has a rich musical history, from big bands like Stereophonics to smaller local acts playing venues like The Globe.
During your stay, I recommend you enjoy a concert in one of Cardiff's concert halls, or take in a show at Welsh National Opera at the Millennium Centre.
With a wide variety of shows, there's something for everyone, even if you've never been to the opera before.
Cardiff: a tour of the parks
If you want to enjoy the great outdoors while staying a little closer to Cardiff, you'll find plenty of green spaces in the city.
Bute Park seems like the perfect place for a long stroll. There's always something new to discover when you spend a few hours exploring it.
A little further afield, Roath Park has a large lake and gardens to discover. Here you can explore the flower gardens, play sports or simply sit on the grass and enjoy the view. enjoy a sunny afternoon.
Take the time to lose yourself in the aisles of the National Museum
Dinosaur skeletons are always a hit with children, and the museum houses the largest collection of Impressionist art in England.
Take a journey from the beginning of the universe to the present day in this museum brimming with exhibits.
Admission is free, so don't miss out on a fun-filled family outing.
Cardiff: spend a day at Mermaid Quay
In Cardiff Bay, Mermaid Quay is a great attraction with plenty of places to eat and drink.
You can sit back and contemplate the water or watch a film in the five-screen cinema. Afterwards, you can grab a bite to eat in one of the local restaurants.
Nor is it Cardiff Bay's only attraction. The Senedd, home to the Welsh Assembly Government, and the Techniquest science center.
Don't forget to visit the castleÂ
Dating back to the 11th century, Cardiff Castle is a must-see. Right in the center of the city, I strongly recommend you buy a ticket to visit the exhibitions and tour this castle steeped in history.
Afterwards, you can stop for a coffee at the Keep Dining Experience. enjoy the breathtaking view.
Cardiff: party all night long
When night falls, there's no reason to stop enjoying yourself. Cardiff has plenty of bars, pubs and nightclubs to keep you entertained.
Whether you just want a few drinks in the evening or a night out in one of the city's biggest nightclubs, there's something for everyone in the Welsh capital.
To learn more about English culture, I recommend that you escape London for a while and visit to more remote locations such as Cardiff.
